BedWatch provides increased visibility in a variety of ways. In this post, we’ll explore how BedWatch helps improve patient flow and hospital visibility into pending patient moves, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
BedWatch Admit Control, Transport Control and Bed Control are designed to provide real-time visibility into the daily flow of patients through the facility, making it easy for hospital management teams to monitor and streamline the patient throughput process.
BedWatch Admit Control allows users to reserve specific beds for incoming patients, in order to eliminate double-booking of rooms and improve the overall understanding of daily capacity. This feature also helps patient placement staff plan for all known incoming patients, which can ultimately help reduce patient wait times.
BedWatch Transport Control allows requesters to submit a transfer request for either ‘Now’ or ‘Later,’ allowing hospital staff to plan ahead and save time. Transport Control also allows transporters to quickly and easily communicate delays and other issues to the entire team, ensuring hospital operations don’t stall because of an unforeseen delay in the patient flow process.
BedWatch Bed Control allows users to input pending discharge information, which helps the Environmental Services (EVS) team plan for appropriate staffing needs, while also providing patient placement and nursing staff with insight as to when clean beds will become available.
Independently, these features each provide increased visibility into the real-time operational needs and performance of patient placement, patient transportation, and housekeeping teams, respectively. Combined, these features work together to significantly reduce miscommunication around capacity needs and the entire patient flow process.
